Gastroenterology and Hepatology Research

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at IU School of Medicine carries out an extensive research program that is both laboratory-based and patient-oriented, receiving more than $10 million of research funding each year from the National Institutes of Health and other extramural sources.

Well-Published Faculty Investigators

Many faculty members in this division have sustained federal funding (both NIH and VA), and they publish more than 200 full-length papers each year in top-tier medical journals. Faculty also serve as editors and members of the editorial boards of many prestigious biomedical journals and serve on NIH and VA study sections.
