Education Programs

The Department of Medicine at IU School of Medicine offers an extensive selection of educational opportunities within its 10 subspecialty divisions. From the first year of medical school through post-graduate fellowship training, all learners receive exceptional training from dedicated faculty in all areas of clinical internal medicine and research.

MD Training

The department offers MD training to medical students beginning in the first year curriculum. Opportunities include early clinical exposure through clerkships and externships as well as a variety of elective courses.

Residencies

Three residency programs are offered through the Department of Medicine: the Internal Medicine Residency, the Southwest Internal Medicine Residency, and the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency.

Fellowships

Medicine fellowships allow physicians to hone their skills across several specialties—from the conventional areas of internal medicine to emerging areas, such as informatics.
