The IU School of Medicine uses ExamSoft software to administer first-and second-year assessments as secure computer-based exams.
ExamSoft provides a web platform (called ExamSoft portal) for faculty and/or staff to create computer-based assessments and downloadable software (called Examplify) for students to take these assessments.
Examplify is a high stakes assessment program developed and licensed by ExamSoft that enables applicants to securely take examinations downloaded to a university computer lab PC or to the learner’s own laptop by blocking access to files, programs and the Internet during the exams.
Indianapolis and Muncie will take exams in university computer labs. All other campuses will take exams on your IU School of Medicine provided laptop. Information about the school's laptop program can be found on the computer requirements page.
The Examplify Student Guide provides steps to:
- Login to Examplify
- Download an exam
- Take an exam
- Save and submit exam
- Get Examplify support

The IU School of Medicine uses E*Value to help monitor and manage a medical student’s educational experiences. The school operates out of nine campuses and works with several clerkships and elective courses. E*Value is a great web-based tool to manage many of the processes that were once done by paperwork.
We are transitioning out of E*Value and into MedHub. Please see below for the functionality that is still available to students in the E*Value system.
If you have questions regarding E*Value please contact:
