The Hospital Medicine Education program offers first-year medical students the opportunity to spend a portion of their summer learning about clinical medicine and community health in a community hospital. Depending on the participating hospital, the summer experiences may run from four to eight weeks where students spend up to 40 hours/week at the hospital. Students may not hold other jobs concurrently that would be in direct conflict with the hospital program obligations.
