IU School of Medicine systematically monitors and investigates the educational needs and experiences of medical students through robust program evaluation processes administered by the Educational Affairs Data Analytics (EDA) team. EDA plays a pivotal role in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of schoolwide educational outcome data necessary for making key curricular decisions.
Teaching Support for Faculty
Beyond gathering, analyzing and disseminating data, IU School of Medicine provides resources and support to faculty, utilizing findings to improve teaching and foster student learning at IU School of Medicine.
Learner and Program Director Surveys
IU School of Medicine’s EDA team annually gathers assessment data on the performance of graduates during their first year in residency using the Post-Graduate Year 1 Survey (PGY-1). A companion instrument, the National Resident Readiness Survey (NRR), developed by the AAMC is administered to program directors of our graduates during their first year in residency. Both of these surveys are used to identify differences in perceptions between graduates and their program directors.
