Residency Placement

Indiana University School of Medicine has a strong record of matching students to their top choice for residency programs both in Indiana and across the country. In 2021, approximately 86 IU School of Medicine graduates chose to remain in Indiana for their residency training, demonstrating that the school is fulfilling its commitment to prepare the next generation of physicians who will care for Hoosiers. At the same time, IU School of Medicine is sending students to some of the most competitive residency programs throughout the country—proof that IU medical students receive an education that empowers them to be successful in any discipline and at any location.

It’s a Match: High school sweethearts to celebrate fourth graduation together at IU School of Medicine

The first graduation Sarina Masso Maldonado and Carlos Martinez Licha celebrated together was in kindergarten. Now married, Carlos and Sarina will celebrate their fourth dual graduation ceremony--from Indiana University School of Medicine. They will begin their careers as physicians with residencies at San Antonio Military Medical Center.
