Faculty within the IU School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine share their expertise and passion for discovery with future physicians through classroom instruction, hands-on clinical experiences and opportunities to publish original research. The department provides educational opportunities for medical students, residents and subspecialty fellows. This department’s statewide clerkship instructs every medical student attending the school. An emergency medicine residency established in 1979, a combined emergency medicine/pediatrics residency and several clinical fellowships prepare residents for any job in emergency medicine around the globe.
