The Emergency Medicine Clinical Operations and Administration fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine is a two-year program aimed at providing emergency medicine physicians with the skillset and knowledge base necessary to become future hospital and emergency department leaders. The fellowship takes a multi-faceted approach to healthcare administration education, leveraging a partnership with the IU Kelley School of Business physician-focused MBA program to provide a balance of formal didactics with real-world, hands-on training, culminating in the receipt of a nationally recognized MBA degree. Fellows work clinically throughout the fellowship and play an active role in the operational and managerial efforts of their respective clinical sites.
To ensure a broad educational experience, fellows typically split their clinical time across one academic and one community site, dependent on a combination of factors including educational opportunities, department clinical needs, and fellow preference.
