Bio
Jason completed his undergraduate training at Miami University in Ohio. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was president of the Medical Student Association (1996-1997) and Class President (1996-1999). He completed my emergency medicine residency training at the IU School of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2002 where he served as Chief Resident for the 2001-2002 year. He was the recipient of the informatics award in 2001 and 2002.
Jason joined the IUEM faculty in July of 2002. He is now the Chief of the Division of Informatics. His wife, Sarah Hill Schaffer, is a pediatrician with Meridian Pediatrics where she has been practicing since 2014. They have two sons, Carter and Maddox.
Dr. Schaffer's lecture and focus area are in coronary disease. He is active on the Methodist AMI/Chest Pain committee and the Level One Heart Attack committee for primary STEMI transfers. He has been Co-PI for several multicenter chest pain and AMI trials.
