Education Programs

The Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine offers a wide range of educational programs for various levels of learners including medical students, neuroscientists, psychiatry residents, psychology interns, and post-doctoral fellows. Programs span from medical school curriculum through postdoctoral training, all of which cover total aspects of child, adolescent and adult psychiatric and psychological care.

The department offers three residency programs: psychiatry and triple board residencies in Indianapolis, as well as a psychiatry residency in Vincennes, Indiana.

Psychiatry Training Facilities

Training Facilities

Clinical training for the Department of Psychiatry education programs occurs in renowned teaching hospitals that partner with IU School of Medicine in Indianapolis, including the IU Neuroscience Center/ Goodman Hall, Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and other IU Health hospitals and primary care clinics. IU School of Medicine faculty provide care in inpatient and outpatient settings and specialize in the psychiatric care of adults or of children and adolescents.
