Anxiety and Genetics

Department of Psychiatry experts at IU School of Medicine conduct testing of novel compounds to determine the genetics of treatment response. Current department research has developed complex models of anxiety disorders and identified critical brain proteins that are involved in the mediation of behavioral responses to stress. From genetic studies on anxiety to investigating adolescents and young adults who are at risk for developing bipolar and related disorders, Department of Psychiatry faculty are dedicated to furthering neuroscience discovery in anxiety and mood disorders.
