In order to be considered for admission to the Psychology Internship program beginning in July of each year, applicants must submit a completed application via the APPIC Online Application Portal no later than November 1 of the previous year.
Admissions Process
In mid November, applicants will notified by email if they are invited for an interview. Approximately 85 applicants for the 2023-2024 training year will be invited to participate in one of three virtual interview days to be held in January 2023. Please note, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to promote diversity, equity and inclusion, in-person visits to campus will not be permitted. Each applicant will participate in at least two individual interviews with faculty members, receive an overview of the program and interact with current interns and supervisors in a virtual format. If invited for an interview, applicants will be asked to provide a photo or for permission to take a screenshot of them on the virtual interview day to help faculty accurately recall each applicant. The photos are not used for decision-making or evaluation purposes. The program adheres to all APPIC policies throughout the application and selection process. Applicants may elect to apply to more than one track but must indicate in a cover letter which track(s) they would like to pursue.
House Staff Appointment
Interns are appointed to the house staff of IU School of Medicine for 12 calendar months beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
