Cystic Fibrosis

Research is an integral part of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at IU School of Medicine, and this research facility is one of 82 sites that participate in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Therapeutic Development Network (TDN), the largest Cystic Fibrosis clinical trials network in the world. This robust network of centers works together, under the guidance of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to perform high-quality clinical trials in a broad range of therapeutic areas, including CFTR modulation, anti-inflammatories, anti-infectives, nutrition and airway surface liquid hydration.

Active Research

The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic is active in at least six different studies sponsored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Therapeutic Development Network, and, as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation pipeline continues to grow, researchers anticipate further growth in their clinical research activities. Focus Areas

In addition to research sponsored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Therapeutic Development Network, the adult Cystic Fibrosis program at IU School of Medicine participates in independent investigation. Areas of research include outcomes after transition from pediatric to adult Cystic Fibrosis care and vitamin D supplementation.
