Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Research

Urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery specialists at Indiana University School of Medicine are national leaders in researching urogynecology and pelvic disorders, conditions and treatments. Division researchers work in interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with experts from the Department of Urology to identify and solve problems of the pelvic floor. Additionally, fellows in the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship gain mentored, hands-on research experience with division researchers and leaders from the Department of Urology.

This research seeks to investigate the interplay between intrauterine devices and sexual and bladder dysfunction, shedding light on the potential implications of these relationships, with the ultimate goal of informing healthcare decisions and improving reproductive and sexual health.
