The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology includes six divisions specializing in all areas of obstetrics and gynecology. Faculty experts in these divisions conduct research, teach the next generation of obstetricians and gynecologists, and provide top-ranked clinical care to patients, all to improve the care and health of people worldwide.

Through the school’s strong partnership with Indiana University Health, department faculty deliver more than 3,000 babies each year and provide obstetrical and gynecologic care, including antenatal, postpartum, high-risk pregnancy, gynecologic oncology, menopause, premenstrual syndrome, urogynecology, infertility and more.

The department is also involved in global health programs, and several faculty members travel to Kenya annually to improve Kenyan women's health.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology researches new treatments and provides care for people with gynecologic cancers affecting the female reproductive tract.

The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility researches reproductive medicine and infertility concerns while caring for women experiencing reproductive difficulties or infertility.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine provides top-ranked care for women and people with medical and obstetric issues considered “high-risk,” such as preexisting diabetes, chronic high blood pressure, preeclampsia, preterm labor and more.

The Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery cares for people with various gynecologic conditions using innovative, state-of-the-art procedures that lessen pain and shorten recovery time.
