Admission Requirements

The Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship program focuses on recruiting candidates with a strong work ethic who work well with staff, handle a large clinical work-load, possess strong leadership abilities and work well independently.  The program values candidates who demonstrate a commitment to female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery as evidenced by subspecialty-specific basic or clinical research during residency.

Applications

This ACGME-accredited fellowship participates in the National Residency Matching Program and accepts Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications.

Visiting Residencies in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

On select years, the Indiana University School of Medicine Office of Graduate Medical Education facilitates 30-day electives or “visiting residencies” in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery for interested third-year OB-GYN residents looking to enhance their experience in this sub-specialty during the months of September, October and November. These months have been chosen to ensure a fulfilling exposure to the breadth of the sub-specialty without interruption from holidays or annual scientific meetings. It also prepares the selected candidate for the application and interview process for fellowship training during the months of April, May and June.

Selected candidates work with fellows and attending physicians in the diagnosis and the non-surgical and surgical management of women with pelvic floor disorders.
