Unlocking Your Inner Mentor Workshop

This workshop series is aimed at those engaged in mentoring students, post-doctoral fellows and starting faculty within the context of biomedical research regardless of the level of expertise. Each of the four, two-hour sessions combine case studies with group discussion addressing issues critical to effective mentoring within the academic research enterprise. This four-part series will focus on communication, aligning expectations, equity and inclusion, and promoting professional development. This workshop series is provided every semester.

Faculty Mentoring Workshop

This resource, created by Department of Emergency Medicine and FAPD, provides strategy and materials for facilitating a Faculty Mentoring Workshop in your clinical department or division. It offers seven skill-building sessions (30 minutes each) with topics ranging from mentor/mentee concepts, generational issues, medical student advising, evaluation/feedback and mentoring networks.

UW-Madison ICTR: Mentoring Resources

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (UW ICTR) has created a research mentoring website with a comprehensive array of offerings. ICTR coordinates the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) and the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), which provide mentoring focused curricula, assessment tools, and facilitator certification.

UCSF Accelerate Mentor Development Program

The University of California-San Francisco’s Mentor Development Program offers course materials covering nine domains of mentor training ranging from diversity, work-life balance, IRB and leadership skills. The Accelerate website is supported by the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI).
