Division of Gynecologic Oncology

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology researches new treatments and provides care for women with gynecologic cancers, or cancers affecting the female reproductive tract.

The division has experienced significant growth over the last five years with the addition of several new faculty members and gynecologic oncology specialists. Gynecologic oncology clinics also expanded to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. Previously, there were no gynecologic oncology specialists seeing patients at Eskenazi, so the addition of these clinics is helping serve this need for the patient population there.

The department also celebrated the opening of the new Indiana University Health North Hospital Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center in January 2020. The opening of the new center allows gynecologic oncology specialists to expand services on the north side of the city.

The division touts an advanced practice provider to help with patient care and the increase in volume at IU North, and looks forward to continuing to grow the practice there over time.
