We know it can be stressful deciding which specialty to study. Based on increased feedback from each town hall meeting on elective choice advising, the director for career mentoring collaborated with each clinical department to provide detailed materials on elective choices based on specialty interests.
By making the information on each elective uniform and removing outdated content, we not only made viewing the electives more efficient, but easier to understand as well.
We also shared an away-rotation evaluation catalog, categorized by specialty and based on where students rotated away from IU School of Medicine during the last few years. We hope this catalog will help students considering away-rotation electives.
