An ACGME-accredited two-year postgraduate fellowship program in vascular surgery is available through the Department of Surgery’s Division of Vascular Surgery at IU School of Medicine.
Curriculum
The first year of this program focuses on pre- and post-operative care of the vascular patient to prepare for refining open operative skills and immersion in complex vascular reconstructions. The second year focuses on endovascular procedures, including endovascular aneurysm repair, carotid, renal, peripheral angioplasty and stenting. In the second year of fellowship training, fellows gain experience in percutaneous vascular diagnosis and intervention and participate in the vascular laboratory, including performing and interpreting vascular studies. Incoming fellows are required to have completed a five-year ACGME-accredited residency in general surgery.
