Why PHM? Throughout my residency, I loved the variety of patients I got to see, allowing me to care for both simple and complex diagnoses. Being a hospitalist, I get to care for all children, including NICU and PICU patients at our community health sites. When I graduate fellowship, I want to be a pediatric hospitalist who cares for the most complex patients, an educator who positively impacts medical students and residents, and a capable researcher able to implement projects that improve how we care for children.
Why IU School of Medicine/Riley Hospital for Children? Having been with IU and Riley Hospital for all of my training, I know what this program and hospital have to offer. They have an awesome group of Hospitalists willing and ready to help with my research, QI, education, and clinical interests. I get a well-rounded and robust fellowship experience while working closely with a group of amazing people. Riley Hospital is a large hospital so there are ample opportunities to learn, grow, and impact patient lives. Plus, Indianapolis feels like home now. It's where my people (family, friends, work colleagues/friends) are located, and it's a bit city with a lot to offer.

Why PHM? During medical school and residency, I fell in love with both Hospital Medicine and teaching. Pursuing a PHM fellowship allowed me dedicated time to better myself as an educator and learn more about the world of medical education!
Why IU School of Medicine/Riley Hospital for Children? Growing up in a small town near Southern Indiana, Riley Hospital was THE place to go for fantastic pediatric care — this is what initially piqued my interest. When combing through PHM fellowships, I found IU's Clinical Educator Pathway, which was a huge draw. What solidified it for me was the people. During interviews, the program was very kind and really emphasized tailoring the experience.
