Why CICU? The cardiorespiratory physiology has always been an area of specific interest for me. During PICU fellowship, this interest evolved more to learn and practice in the field of complex congenital heart disease.
Why IU/Riley? The quality of communication by the program faculty and coordinator during interview season made all the difference for me to choose Riley and IU School of Medicine for my CVICU training. They all were invested in ensuring that I make the right decision for this important phase of learning. The Program Director was most interested in discussing how they can work towards shaping the training program to make it the best for me. I saw a great scope of mutual growth as a member of their diverse team. Additionally, IU School of Medicine has a robust cardiac surgical and research program. By the time of my final decision, I was confident I was making the best decision for this training.
