These resources are designed to provide information on physician fatigue, including identifying signs and symptoms of fatigue, and to connect residents and program leaders with resources if they or someone they know is struggling with fatigue.
UPMC WELL Toolkit: Fatigue Resources
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) WELL Toolkit "was designed for physicians by physicians, with content that is evidence-based and specific to physicians and the practice of medicine." It speaks directly to ACGME requirements for well-being in a meaningful way.
UPMC identified two primary goals for the WELL Toolkit's Fatigue Section:
- provide background on sleep as it pertains to medical professionals with an emphasis on identifying signs and symptoms of fatigue, and
- remind learners of what to do if they, or a colleague, is showing signs of fatigue at work.
