The Center for Medical Genomics expects payment for services rendered. An Indiana University account number or purchase order (PO) number is required at the beginning of the service.
A full payment is expected if data is obtained, regardless of whether or not it represents the result expected by the investigator.
The Medical Genomics core staff examines quality control at several steps in the process and intercepts the project if yields or quality are not sufficient to continue. In this situation, the center consults with the investigator to see how he/she wants to proceed. Partial payment is required to recover the costs associated with terminated experiments.
Guidelines for sample submission include quality control information. If quality control guidelines are not met and the investigator wishes to have the center process the samples anyway, best efforts are made; but even if the samples fail, payment is expected.
