Some of our notable alumni from the residency program have gone on to leadership positions in the Department or at IU School of Medicine (Autopsy Director Dr. Xing Zhang, Vice Chair for Education Dr. Matt Kuhar, Dr. Omer Saeed GI Section Head). Others serve as faculty at Mayo Rochester (Dr. Rumeal Whaley, Head and Neck Pathology Fellowship), Cincinnati Children's Hospital (Dr. Stephanie Kinney, Director of Transfusion Services), the University of Louisville (Dr. Dibson Gondim, Director of Pathology Informatics), Stanford University (Dr. Chia-Sui "Sunny" Kao, Director of Genitourinary Pathology Service and Fellowship), or the Cleveland Clinic (Dr. Sean Williamson, Director of Genitourinary Pathology Service and Editor in Chief for the International Journal of Surgical Pathology). Dr. David Priemer, is Associate Director of the Brain Tissue Repository in the Department of Defense/Uniformed Services University and Dr. Khaleel Al-Obaidy is a Senior Staff Pathologist specializing in GU, Head & Neck, and Molecular Pathology at Henry Ford. He was recently named one of ASCP's 40 under 40. Both are 2019 graduates of the program.
