Specimen Requirements

Collect: Preferred: Serum (red top) tube. Acceptable: Sodium heparin (green top) or EDTA (lavender top)

Specimen Volume: 0.2 mL (minimum of 0.05 mL)

Storage/Transport: Separate serum or plasma from whole blood and transfer to a plastic transport tube. Ship with cold packs or on dry ice in an insulated container using an overnight courier.

Unacceptable Conditions: Insufficient quantity; Specimen other than plasma or serum sent to lab

Stability: One week at room temperature (20°C ± 5°C). One month refrigerated (4°C ± 3°C); One year frozen (-20°C ± 5°C)
