Lab launches high-throughput clinical testing fall 2022
The Indiana University Diagnostic Genomics Laboratory (IU-DGL) officially opened for clinical services in fall 2022! This marks the beginning of a long and productive journey at IU School of Medicine. The lab will first launch a disease-targeted NGS diagnostic panel (somatic/cancer) for plasma cell myeloma (also known as multiple myeloma), followed by clinical genome and clinical exome testing. We are excited to expand the IUGTL genetic testing services with comprehensive and high-resolution diagnostic testing developed to improve the identification and management of patients with genetic disease.

Web ordering and resulting system goes live
We've partnered with Sunquest Mitogen (Clinisys) to create a web-based portal for our laboratory testing. Our LIMS interfaces with Cerner via the Reference Lab Network (RLN) portal. Now, clinicians from IU Health and any institution with access to the Cerner RLN portal may order testing and receive results from the IU-DGL via a secure web interface. Additional advantages include automated notifications that alert clients when new reports are available and tracking of patient laboratory results. Please contact the lab for more information.
