Cardiovascular Genetics

Launched in 2014, the Cardiovascular Genetics program is a multidisciplinary basic science, translational and clinical research group that aims to investigate and identify the genetic factors that lead to cardiovascular disease.

Investigators seek to understand the developmental mechanisms and pathobiology of heritable cardiac disease in order to identify causes, develop novel treatments and improve the quality of life for people with heart abnormalities. Conditions for which the group has specific interest range from cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, heritable arrhythmia, genetic syndromes and more.
