IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is a major non-profit teaching hospital with 360 beds and the largest medical education program in Indiana outside Indianapolis. The Transitional Year Residency has full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Active in medical education for more than 70 years, the Ball Memorial Hospital provides internships and residency programs for more than 50 house staff members representing family medicine, internal medicine and transitional year.
