The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research in the IU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics celebrated a belated 30-year anniversary with a retreat and celebration on August 25, 2022.
The retreat was held at the NCAA Hall of Champions in downtown Indianapolis and featured enlightening talks from Wells Center investigators and a poster session highlighting the important research underway at the center.
Guest speakers included inaugural Wells Center Director David Williams, MD; former Wells Center Director Mervin Yoder, MD; current Wells Center Director Reuben Kapur, PhD; Riley Pediatrics Chairman Richard Schreiner, MD; and Department of Pediatrics Chairman D. Wade Clapp, MD. Liz Elkas, president and CEO, Riley Children’s Foundation, and Gil Peri, president, Riley Children’s Health, also spoke to those gathered at the event.
The Wells Center would like to thank the special guests, faculty and staff who attended the special celebration.
The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research conducts basic science and translational research within the Department of Pediatrics at IU School of Medicine. The Wells Center is home to nearly 200 faculty investigators, staff and trainees seeking answers to the most pressing questions related to childhood illness.
