Dear Colleagues,

As another very challenging year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on the work done in 2021 to update the IU School of Medicine Honor Code—and what it means.

The core values, EXCELLENCE, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, DIVERSITY & COOPERATION, are important, because they are guideposts for us as we work with one another and make the School as good as it can be.

I’m uplifted by the many ways my colleagues live out these values. One of our school’s true unsung heroes comes to mind as an example. Her name won’t ever appear on a welcome announcement when new leaders arrive, nor will it be mentioned in a major gift agreement or high-impact journal article.

However, the work that Crissy Quenichet does in helping to bring top talent to IU School of Medicine has had a big impact on the success across our mission areas.

Crissy is the Executive Recruiting Specialist for Faculty Affairs, joining the school in 2016. In her role, she is often one of the first people candidates for top-level positions at the school interact with, and one of the last people they see when visiting for interviews.

Warm. Welcoming. Organized. Professional. Creative. Respectful.

These are words used to describe Crissy by some of the school’s newest executive leaders. Time and time again I’ve heard that Crissy played a role in their decision to come here—making a positive impression and setting the tone for the entire recruitment process.

I want to publicly thank Crissy for helping the School of Medicine power ahead. Her spirit of RESPECT helps to attract not only people with top talent, but also top character to join our ranks.
