The Pediatric Anesthesia Division delivers safe, compassionate care to pediatric patients for a broad range of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, at Riley Children’s Health, Indiana’s largest children’s hospital. Riley is consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report's Best Hospitals and provides over 26,000 anesthetics each year to children across the Midwest. Our faculty members care for premature babies, newborns, children and adolescents for routine surgeries through the most complex cardiac surgeries, craniofacial reconstructions, neurosurgeries and organ transplantations. The division includes specialized programs for congenital cardiac anesthesia, transplant anesthesia and acute and chronic pain management.
In addition to providing expert clinical care, faculty members are engaged in research and education. Indiana University School of Medicine offers a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology. Graduates can expect to leave the program fully prepared in the conduct of anesthesia for neonates, infants, children and adolescents undergoing the full spectrum of surgical subspecialty procedures.
