Search for new IUPUC vice chancellor and dean has begun

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS — A nationwide search has begun to identify candidates for the position of vice chancellor and dean at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, announced Nasser H. Paydar, chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

The successful candidate will succeed Laurence D. Richards, who has been interim vice chancellor and dean since last July, when he agreed to fill the post temporarily after Marwan A. Wafan stepped down to become chancellor of Pennsylvania State University’s Worthington Scranton campus.

Before the interim appointment, Richards was executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and professor of management informatics at IU East.

“IUPUC is a vibrant and responsive academic community that plays a pivotal role in its students’ intellectual and personal development and in the region,” said Paydar. “Larry has provided vital leadership during this time of transition, and we look forward to identifying a new leader who will continue IUPUC’s focus on student success and deep community engagement.”

IUPUI has engaged AGB Search to assist the search committee, chaired by Richards, which includes faculty and staff from IUPUC and IUPUI as well as IUPUC student, alumni and community representatives.
