INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis is offering a one-stop shop for information about graduate programs offered at IUPUI and 40 other universities, including Ball State University, Butler University, Indiana State University, Marian University, University of Notre Dame and Valparaiso University Law School.

Hosted by the IUPUI Graduate Office, the Graduate Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at the IUPUI Campus Center, 420 University Blvd. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged.

Other universities attending include Bowling Green State University; International American University, College of Medicine; University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; University of Tampa; and Texas Tech University Graduate School.

Participants will be able to talk with faculty, graduate students and graduate program representatives. They also can participate in free breakout sessions. The sessions, in Room 405 at the Campus Center, are:

  • GRE Test Preparation, 10:30 to 11:20 a.m.
  • Funding Graduate School, 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
  • Using LinkedIn, 12:30 to 1:20 p.m.

“Understanding what graduate and professional schools’ admissions committees are seeking and informal meetings with school recruiters and faculty to compare and contrast programs at events such as our Grad Expo can open doors for students to a customized graduate education and career advancement,” said Janice Blum with the Graduate Office.

To help would-be graduate students better understand expectations, the Graduate Office makes available guidelines it’s received from graduate program recruiters.
