Public forum at IUPUI tonight will address impact of Covanta deal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS — The student council of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis is co-sponsoring a public forum tonight on the future of Indiana’s recycling programs and efforts.

Panelists Carey Hamilton, executive director of the Indiana Recycling Coalition; City Councilor John Barth; and Myles Cohen, president of Pratt Industries will discuss Indianapolis’ agreement with Convanta Energy and the implications it will have on recycling in the state.

The forum will take place at 7 p.m. today, April 22,  in Room 450 of the IUPUI Campus Center, 420 University Blvd. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This event is co-organized by the SPEA Student Council, the Indiana Recycling Coalition and the Student Sustainability Council of IUPUI.
