IU School of Medicine Orchestra to perform free concert April 13

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana University School of Medicine Orchestra Spring Concert will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Indiana History Center auditorium, 450 W. Ohio St.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature 40 musically talented medical and nursing students, medical residents, faculty and staff of the IU schools of medicine and dentistry.

Selections will include the Academic Festival Overture by Johannes Brahms; Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21 by Ludwig van Beethoven; “The Laughing Song” from “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss; and “West Side Story Selections for Orchestra” by Leonard Bernstein and arranged by Jack Mason.

A coffee and cookie reception will follow the performance. This event is sponsored by the IU School of Medicine Office of Medical Service Learning and IU School of Medicine Alumni Association.
