About 400 IUPUI freshmen students will move in Saturday, August 17, to University Tower at IUPUI, spending their first year at college in what was once a four-star hotel.

Formerly the University Place Hotel, University Tower is now a residence hall for 560 students. About 150 students have already moved in.

Busiest time Saturday at University Tower will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The amenity filled rooms feature a private bath, bed, desk, closet, dresser, wired and wireless Internet connections, skyline view of downtown Indianapolis, informal learning spaces, a game room, fitness center, laundry facility and dining facility.  Most rooms will house two students. Some will house three students.

Nearly 2,000 students will be living on campus at IUPUI this year, the most ever. Other student housing includes Ball Residence Hall, IUPUI Riverwalk Apartments, Townhomes, and Park Place.

Aaron Hart, director of Housing and Residence Life at IUPUI, will be at University Tower Saturday. To contact him for an interview, call 317-278-4296.
