Health Care Reform and Diversity, Theme of IU Medical School Diversity Week

Four nationally recognized speakers will address health care reform and how it affects diverse communities with one-hour presentations at noon each day in the Wishard Memorial Hospital Myers Auditorium.  The 2012 Diversity Week speakers are:

  • Jan. 17 — Lori Arviso Alvord, M.D., professor of surgery and associate dean, Student Affairs, Central Michigan University College of Medicine  
  • Jan. 18 — Eli Coleman, Ph.D., chair of Sexual Health and director of the Program in Human Sexuality in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Minnesota
  • Jan. 19 — Elena V. Rios, M.D., MSPH, president and CEO, National Hispanic Medical Association and president, National Hispanic Health Foundation, Washington D.C.
  • Jan. 20 — Delbert Wigfall, M.D., professor, Department of Pediatrics, Duke University School of Medicine

The program is hosted by the IU School of Medicine Diversity Council and continuing medical education credits will be available.
