Dr. Presson is a professor of anesthesia and of pediatrics at the IU School of Medicine, where he joined the faculty as an assistant professor in 1987 following a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia and critical care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Presson completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University and served his residency training in pediatrics at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas, and in anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va.

A native of Washington, D.C., Dr. Presson’s research interests include pulmonary circulation, acute lung injury and ischemia reperfusion injury of the lung. Dr. Presson’s investigations are based on intravital microscopy of the lung.
