The grant in the amount of $9,400 has been distributed to AAA Hoosier Motor Club, Clark County; the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, Dearborn County; Harrison County Hospital EMS; the Jefferson County Health Department; and Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Ripley County.

The Permanent Child Safety Seat Inspection Stations are staffed by nationally certified child passenger safety technicians who inspect car seats and instruct families how to properly secure them in their vehicles.

Statistics show that at least four out of five car seats are used incorrectly.  Improper use of a child safety seat can lead to severe injury and or death.  Parents and caregivers can call the Automotive Safety Program at 1-800-KID-N-CAR (1-800-543-6227) or visit www.preventinjury.org  to locate a Permanent Child Safety Seat Inspection Station location near to them.
