First Eugene and Marilyn Glick Vision Research Symposium Set for April

The symposium will give researchers and scientists from across Indiana an opportunity to meet and discuss their current projects.

“We want to bring together people from across the state who are working on projects that are vision-related, including clinical and basic science researchers,” said Louis B. Cantor, M.D., chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the IU School of Medicine. “We anticipate a day-long meeting with a featured speaker as we provide an interactive environment for researchers within Indiana to share their ideas and explore potential areas of collaboration.”

Dr. Cantor said vision-related research is being done at IU and at other institutions in Indiana, yet researchers are sometimes unaware of parallel or related research. “It benefits all of us to meet and discuss the research we are conducting, learn from each other, and to determine if there are opportunities for collaboration,” Dr. Cantor said.

Dr. Cantor says researchers from all Indiana universities, and ophthalmologists from across the state, are invited to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion at the symposium or to attend the meeting.
