Fulbright Scholar to Join Wells Center Cancer Research Team

Dr. Vascotto was a post-doctoral fellow in molecular biology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Technologies at the University of Udine before being appointed as research associate in 2008. He obtained a doctorate in biomedical and biotechnological sciences at the University of Udine in May 2007. His research into the molecular mechanisms of specific proteins will complement the studies of DNA repair and cancer research at the Wells Center.

Dr. Vascotto’s appointment is an extension of joint research project between IU Professor Mark Kelley, Ph.D., associate director of the Wells Center, and Gianluca Tell, Ph.D., at University of Udine. The research is funded by grants from the governments of Italy and the United States.
