Since its inception in 2014, Finding Inspiration and Resilience in Medicine (FIRM) Conference has made preventing and overcoming burnout its highest priority.

As we continue to challenge the present reality of burnout, we are calling for a better, brighter future in health professions. We hope to help medical practitioners stop merely surviving and start thriving. It is time to stop burning out and begin burning bright. We invite you to burn brightly with us at this year’s conference!

We can promise great speakers, cool swag, food and a collective interest in improving the state of health care education and work to better support you and your colleagues.

This is an approved excused absence from didactic or clinical responsibilities. If you are on a clinical responsibility be sure to let your clinical preceptor know. Phase 1 students: In accordance with the Professional Development Opportunity (PDO) allowance, students may take this as one of the 3 (including travel) excused PDO absences for the year. Students must first speak with their site leader to understand the impact of the absence.  After speaking with the site leader, students will need to fill out a Time Away Request form.  Students are responsible for obtaining any information that is missed. For more information regarding PDOs, see the Phase 1 attendance section of the Schedule Conflicts, Absences and Vacations Policy.
