The Indiana Medical Student Program for Research and Scholarship (IMPRS) offers research advising and contacts for all medical students at the IU School of Medicine. Its flagship program, the IMPRS Summer Research Program, offers a stipend-supported research experience after completing the first year of medical school.
The program provides:
- Mentored research projects
- Professional development opportunities including:
- Survey design
- Biostatistics
- Critical thinking and reading skills
- Presentation skills
- Networking with physician-scientists
Past participants of the IMPRS Summer Research Program overwhelmingly recommend it to other students. The mentor-student research collaborations have made significant impacts on the scientific and clinical fields within Indiana and worldwide. - Student Research Meet & Greet Event: Attend this October 15 session to meet with faculty interested in providing mentored research projects. Remote access will be available for regional campus students.
