After a competitive, national search, Kevin Gebke, MD, has been selected to serve in the new position of senior vice president of community medicine for Indiana University Health.
This position was established to serve the unified medical group—a key system initiative that will strengthen the relationships and care coordination for patients across the IU Health system. Gebke has served as the chair of the Department of Family Medicine since 2011. He has also served as president of community medicine and interim chief medical officer for IU Health Physicians. For the last year and a half, he has been working to advance efforts in community medicine by developing one standard model of care for population health, quality and safety, and ambulatory care in collaboration with regional leaders.
A national search will be launched to find a new department chair. Deanna Willis, MD, MBA, will serve as interim chair of the department, effective September 1, 2022.
