Each year, the Indiana University Board of Trustees celebrates the high-quality educators who drive our mission and learners forward by conferring the Trustees’ Teaching Award on approximately 6% of all university faculty whose primary duty is teaching. Last year, 57 faculty members from IU School of Medicine received the award, and a similarly high number is expected for 2025. Faculty, staff, learners, residents, fellows and postdocs can submit nominations for outstanding educators between now and Jan. 9.

Nominate an outstanding educator for the Trustees' Teaching Award

An educator answers learners' questions during an IU School of Medicine course.

Indiana University School of Medicine educators are shaping the future of medicine by sparking imagination, assisting discovery, instilling confidence and preparing healers and scientists.

Without educators, our mission would fail.

Without good educators, our learners would fail.

Each year, the IU Board of Trustees celebrates the high-quality educators who drive our mission and learners forward by conferring the Trustees’ Teaching Award on approximately 6% of all university faculty whose primary duty is teaching. While the exact number changes annually, last year, 57 faculty members from IU School of Medicine received the award, and a similarly high number of IU School of Medicine faculty are expected to receive the award in 2025.

Which faculty will be the next to be awarded this honor? It depends on who is nominated.
