Osteogenesis Imperfecta—also known as OI or brittle bone disease—is a rare condition of the bone and connective tissue. It is caused by a genetic defect resulting in insufficient production or imperfectly formed collagen.
The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Federation Europe (OIFE) is an umbrella association for organizations dealing with OI. They have more than 35 member organizations from Europe (full members) or from around the world (associate members).
Their mission is to connect and empower organizations, professionals, and individuals to improve the lives of people with OI. Their vision is for children and adults with OI to live active and independent lives with access to competent health care and necessary social support.
