Clinical Trial Opportunities

Investigators at the Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases conduct a number a clinical trials focused on the prevention and treatment of Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and obesity.

TrialNet, the largest international network of Type 1 diabetes researchers, has a clinical center based at Riley Hospital for Children.

The Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network (RADIANT) aims to discover and define rare and atypical forms of diabetes. These refined diagnoses will be used by diabetes researchers, physicians, and patients to accurately explain their disease. The study entails genetic and clinical testing for enrolled participants.

The RISE Adult Medication Study is a clinical trial in adults with prediabetes and early Type 2 diabetes that conducts testing on whether lowering glucose levels will lead to the recovery of the pancreatic beta-cell function.

The GRADE Study clinical trial compares commonly used diabetes medications combined with metformin for effectiveness in lowering blood sugar and improving patient-centered outcomes.
