INDIANAPOLIS — Officials at Indiana University Research and Technology Corp. have announced promotions for personnel in its technology transfer, commercialization and legal departments.
Dave Wilhite has been named director of technology commercialization. He previously had been the assistant director. His duties include analyzing disclosed faculty inventions, managing the technology commercialization process, overseeing negotiations of licenses, administering outreach initiatives to IU inventors, and training and supervising direct reports.
Jerry Hunter, who had been a graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the IU School of Medicine, is now a SpinUp associate. He identifies IU inventors interested in technology commercialization, assists with new company formation, creates commercialization plans, assists with SBIR and STTR grant applications, and manages business-related activities for funded startups.
Brion St. Amour has been named general counsel and head of intellectual property and will serve as a member of the IURTC leadership team. He previously had been the head of intellectual property. He is responsible for all legal work arising from IURTC’s activities; renders timely advice on the broad range of legal issues including intellectual property, building, nonprofit, etc.; and develops and implements legal budgets.
