INDIANAPOLIS — Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI invites Indianapolis-area artists to participate in the annual art competition held in conjunction with the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Regatta.
Herron Alumni Association will host its annual Art Contest on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the IUPUI Regatta on the downtown canal. The contest is open to both amateur and professional artists 18 or older.
Working during the race, the art contestants will use their own supplies to create original artwork in any medium. The entry fee is $10 per person.
Pre-registration is required. Categories for official judging are:
- 2-D Undergraduate
- 2-D Non-Undergraduate/Professional
- 3-D Undergraduate
- 3-D Non-Undergraduate/Professional
- Digital Undergraduate
- Digital Non-Undergraduate/Professional
The entry fee is $10 per person. All contestants who register by Sept. 3 receive a free official regatta “Artist” T-shirt. Winners in each category receive a $200 Visa gift card. Six honorable mention winners will each receive $50 gift cards.
The regatta audience also will select a People’s Choice Award winner between 3 and 5 p.m. The winner of this category will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card.
